Dr Alvaro Blasi is an American Board-Certified Prosthodontist and a Certified Dental Technician. He completed a three-year prosthodontics residency under the mentorship of Dr Gerard Chiche at Augusta University’s Dental College of Georgia, followed by a one-year Esthetic and Implant Fellowship at the Goldstein Center, also at Augusta University.
Dr Blasi earned his dental degree from the International University of Catalonia (UIC) in Barcelona, Spain, where he also received a PhD in Digital Technology. He currently serves as an Adjunct Assistant Professor in the Department of Oral Rehabilitation at Augusta University and holds a faculty position at UIC in Barcelona.
He is the Editor-in-Chief of Quintessence Técnica Dental and has published extensively in international journals on interdisciplinary treatments, esthetics, and implants. A frequent national and international lecturer, Dr Blasi’s primary areas of focus include perio-ortho-prosthodontic treatments, esthetics, occlusion, and implant restorations.
He maintains a private practice in Barcelona, Spain, at the Blasi Clinic.
Dr Gerard Chiche currently serves as Clinical and Emeritus Professor at Louisiana State University School of Dentistry. A past president of the American Academy of Esthetic Dentistry, Dr Chiche has lectured extensively on esthetic dentistry across 35 countries.
He is the author of two seminal textbooks in the field—Esthetics of Anterior Fixed Restorations and Smile Design—both published by Quintessence Publishing Co. In 2009, he became the inaugural recipient of the Endowed Chair sponsored by the Thomas P. Hinman Dental Society during his tenure as Director of the Center for Esthetics and Implants at Augusta University.
In recognition of his exceptional career and contributions to the profession, Dr Chiche received the 2020 Icon Award for Lifetime Achievement in Dentistry from Seattle Study Club.
