Injection molding is not merely a technique—it is an affordable, minimally invasive, and highly versatile restorative approach suitable for a wide range of clinical scenarios. This lecture reviews the core principles of the injection molding technique and explores its broad applications, from final restorations to phased treatment planning and interdisciplinary communication.

Drs Margeas and Seay demonstrate how injection molding can simplify complex cases, increase patient case acceptance, and deliver esthetic, long-lasting outcomes—all while preserving natural tooth structure. A live hands-on demonstration will walk participants through key clinical steps, providing valuable tips to enhance efficiency and predictability in everyday practice.

Upon completion of this session, attendees should be able to:

• Understand the step-by-step process of the injection molding technique, including materials, protocols, and case selection.
• Identify clinical pearls and efficiency hacks to simplify the workflow, improve outcomes, and troubleshoot common challenges.
• Discover the wide range of applications for injection molding — from direct composite veneers and occlusal rehabilitation to phased treatment planning and enhanced interdisciplinary communication in complex cases.

Dr Margeas graduated from the University of Iowa College of Dentistry in 1986 and completed his AEGD residency the following year. He is currently an adjunct professor in the department of operative dentistry at the University of Iowa. He is board certified by the American Board of Operative Dentistry. He is a diplomate of the American Board of Aesthetic Dentistry and a fellow of the Academy of General Dentistry and International Team of Oral Implantologists (ITI). He has written numerous articles on esthetic and implant dentistry and lectures and presents hands-on courses nationally and internationally on those subjects. He serves on the editorial advisory board of Inside Dentistry, Compendium, and is a contributing editor to Dentistry Today and Oral Health in Canada. Dr Margeas maintains a full-time private practice focusing on comprehensive restorative and implant dentistry in Des Moines, Iowa.

He is the president, CEO and medical director of the Boone Heart Institute, a Denver-based health care organization dedicated to the eradication of heart disease and stroke. From 2008 through 2013, Dr Boone served as a member of the NFL Cardiovascular Committee. Dr Boone works as the Preventive Cardiology Consultant for the Denver Broncos and San Francisco 49ers of the National Football League and the Colorado Rockies of Major League Baseball. 

He has authored and co-authored numerous professional articles and books pertaining to cardiovascular risk, preventive cardiology and stress medicine. Dr Boone’s unique clinical approach focuses on aggressive prevention of cardiovascular disease, including the evaluation of the cardiovascular consequences of mental stress, the early clinical use of the latest cardiac imaging techniques and the advanced detection and treatment of cardiovascular risk.
