In this fast paced, eye opening session, Tall Cop Says Stop, a nationally recognized speaker and former law enforcement officer with decades of field experience, connects the dots between prescription narcotics, non controlled substances, and their real world impact on individuals and communities. Participants will gain insight into emerging drug trends, common misuse behaviors, and how these challenges show up in everyday interactions. From increased anxiety and unpredictable responses to concerning patterns of behavior, the warning signs are often present but not always recognized. This session provides practical, real world strategies to help participants better identify, understand, and respond to substance related situations with greater awareness and confidence.
Upon completion of this session, attendees should be able to:
- Recognize how substance use can affect behavior, communication, and physical response, including potential impacts on healing, pain response, and overall well-being.
- Identify common drug-seeking behaviors and understand appropriate documentation and response strategies in a professional setting.
Officer Jermaine Galloway, known nationally as the Tall Cop, has worked in substance abuse prevention and education for over 23 years. After playing Division I basketball and receiving his BA in Sociology from the University of San Francisco, he worked as a law enforcement officer for 18 years. In 2007, Jermaine started the company known as “Tall Cop Says StopTM”. The Tall Cop currently devotes thousands of hours each year to training professionals and communities on drug and alcohol prevention, education, and enforcement. The Tall Cop is unique in that he spends hundreds of hours with “boots on the ground” highlighting drug culture in various communities. To date, the Tall Cop has trained more than 925,000 professional and community members. The Tall Cop has conducted more than 9,600 community scans, identifying the drug culture and climate. He has trained across the U.S. and in other countries such as Canada and the Bermuda Islands. His program, “High in Plain Sight”, is a nationally recognized program that provides training, education, and enforcement strategies for community substance abuse issues. Additionally, Jermaine Galloway has published articles, been referenced in books, and has been highlighted in many media interviews.
