Management of Complications in Esthetic Implant Dentistry
Lecture up to 0.75 hour
Implants | AGD Subject Code 690
Dental implant therapy has become a highly predictable treatment option; however, biological and mechanical complications can still occur and require timely diagnosis and management. This lecture focuses on identifying common implant complications, including peri-implantitis, as well as the clinical decision-making required to treat and manage these conditions effectively.
Participants will review the etiology and risk factors associated with implant complications and learn practical approaches for diagnosing these issues in clinical practice. Through case-based discussion and evidence-informed treatment strategies, this program will explore surgical and non-surgical management options, restorative considerations, and prevention strategies that support long-term implant success.
By integrating clinical assessment, diagnostic protocols, and treatment planning principles, this session provides a practical framework to help clinicians recognize implant complications early and implement appropriate treatment solutions to improve patient outcomes.
Upon completion of this workshop, attendees should be able to:
- Identify common biological and mechanical complications associated with dental implants, including peri-implant disease.
- Evaluate clinical and radiographic findings to diagnose peri-implantitis and other implant-related complications.
- Apply evidence-based treatment strategies to manage implant complications and improve long-term implant success.
