Practical Applications for Managing Tooth Wear in Clinical Practice
Lecture up to 1.5 hours
Occlusion, AGD Subject Code 180
Incorporating a tooth wear assessment into a patient visit is easy and efficient with digital tools and risk assessment checklists. How do we create a workflow from diagnosis to design and, finally, restorative management? We review techniques for designing and setting new vertical positions, including the role of orthodontics and digitally guided design solutions. Novel materials will be discussed, including new 3D printed resin-ceramic materials and techniques to provide patients staging and transitional solutions to make reconstruction affordable.
Upon completion of this session, the attendees should be able to:
- Implement a workflow protocol that includes a tooth wear assessment.
- Understand the clinical steps involved in occlusal management.
- Evaluate new materials, including additive and subtractive manufacturing, to restore cases with moderate to severe tooth wear.
